ASI offers
a comprehensive range of ecotoxicology services. These range
from laboratory testing, to field sampling services, to consulting.
A brief description of each of ASI's major service areas is
provided below. Click onto any one of these for a more detailed
explanation of services offered in that particular area. |

|
| Fate
and Effects |
Laboratory
testing that is performed for the registration of products
with EPA, FDA or OECD is typically termed Fate and Effects
testing. This work is often performed under Good Laboratory
Pracitces (GLP's). Within the Fate and Effects arena two areas
that are currently getting a lot of attention are the testing
of High Production Volume (HPV) chemicals and Endocrine Disruptor
Testing. |
 |
| Vibracoring |
Vibracoring
is the industry standard for collecting continuous, undisturbed
sediment core samples with depth. Depending upon substrate
conditions, it is possible to collect vibracore samples of
40 feet in length. ASI has one of the nations experts, Mr.
Jim Nickels, on its staff who oversees this work at ASI.

 |
| Effluents |
ASI was the
first certified bioassay lab in the country. We have been
performing bioassay testing on effluents since the inception
of the NDPES program back in the 1970's. |
 |
|
ASI services
in this field include laboratory testing, field sampling,
benthic taxonomy, conventional bioassays and novel toxicity
screening tools. |
  |
| Macrofouling |
Mr. Larry Lyons,
formerly with Betz Dearborn, offers extensive laboratory and
field experience in the development and use of macrofouling
agents. |

| Itemized
Listing |
Though it is
not possible to list every single service we sell, this page
contains a fairly comprehensive listing of services that are
offered by ASI. If you can't find what you are looking for,

| 316(b)
Intake Studies |
ASI's expertise
lies in developing a technically viable, cost-effective, executable
and accurate field programs for 316(b) studies. |
 |
| TIE's |
The acronym
TIE refers to toxicity identification evaluations. This is
the methodology used to ascertain the cause of toxicity in
toxic wastewaters or sediments. Many NPDES permits require
that TIE's be performed if permitees fail to meet their discharge
limits. ASI has one of the nation's experts, Dr. Jon Doi,
on staff to manage its TIE program.

 |
| On-Water
Drilling |
There are many
land based drillers but few who perform on-water drilling.
ASI has over-water rotary drilling and split spoon sampling
capabilities. |
 |
| Dredging |
ASI is one
the nations foremost dredged sediment testing companies. Our
experience includes projects destined for upland and open
water disposal, as well has projects where the sediments are
amended or stabilized prior to their disposal. |
 |
| Geophysical
Surveys |
ASI current
performs hydrographic surveys and current studies including
work with accoustic dopplers. ASI has also begun to offer
side scan sonar and subbottom profile work. |
 |
| Fish
and Benthic Surveys |
ASI performs
a variety of fish and benthic surveys. Our work includes both
field sampling and the laboratory work. ASI is skilled in
conducting benthic taxonomic identification of both marine
and freshwater organisms. |
 |
| Screening
Tests |
ASI markets
a number of screening tests: IQ Toxicity Test, Bait Sticks
and Microtox. These tests are quick, inexpensive, simple and
yield quick results. |
 |
| Environmental
Dredging |
ASI's recent
hire of Mr. David Morgan, places it at the forefront of environmental
dredging in the US. Dave has worked on environmental dredging
projects and designed equipment for these project for more
than a decade. |
 |
| Soil,
Sediment and Water Column Toxicity |
Aqua Survey
has been conducting soil, sediment, and water column toxicity
testing for more than 25 years.. |
